If you are looking for an accommodation in St-Malo Intra-Muros, you will mainly find hotels.
Hôtel des Abers
If you have been following me for some time, you know that I hold the Hôtel des Abers close to my heart.
This small 3-star hotel is managed by my parents. I myself lived there for several months, so I know it particularly well!
The hotel is located in a building dating back to the 16th century; it is full of charm. It is a small establishment with 14 rooms. But it is its breakfast that charms all travelers!
Hôtel le Nautilus
Le Nautilus is a 2-star hotel located in the same street as the Hôtel des Abers.
There has been a recent change in ownership, which is why the entire reception area has just been completely renovated.
Le Nautilus is a lovely small hotel located just steps away from the main street of Saint-Malo, as well as the beaches and ramparts of Saint-Malo.
La Maison des Armateurs
Perhaps your stay in the Corsair City is an opportunity for you to treat yourself a bit. If you are looking for accommodation in Saint-Malo for a romantic getaway in a chic establishment, La Maison des Armateurs is perfect for you.
Conveniently located in the heart of the old town, it is one of the few establishments to have parking. The rooms are very cozy and the decoration is meticulous.
A special mention to the little bar on the ground floor. It makes you want to sit down with a good book!
Le Grand Bé – Golden Tulip
This 4-star hotel opened a few years ago in place of the former prefecture of Saint-Malo. It offers 55 quite luxurious rooms overlooking Place des Frères Lamennais. It is a larger and more luxurious hotel, so it has a bit less charm, in my opinion.
But the hotel also houses a very good restaurant. I had the opportunity to try it during a Sunday brunch and it was really excellent.
St-Malo Places To Stay: Hotels with Sea View
Finding accommodation in the heart of Saint-Malo will allow you to be close to amenities. But there’s not much sea view between the walls! So here’s a selection of establishments located on the Sillon.
Les Charmettes
This 3-star hotel is ideally located on the Sillon and enjoys a clear view of the sea. Not all rooms have a sea view, so you need to be careful when booking.
During the hige Saison, from April to October, Les Charmettes also offer on-site dining. Note that it is entirely possible to dine or have a drink there even if you are not a hotel guest.
Le Nouveau Monde
Le Nouveau Monde is a 4-star spa hotel also located on the Sillon. It has the dual advantage of having a magnificent sea view and being very close to the old town.
It is a bit larger than the hotels in Saint-Malo Intra-Muros since it has 83 rooms.
The restaurant Les 7 Mers located there is renowned and perfectly complements the luxurious aspect of the hotel.
Les Thermes Marins
Do we still need to introduce the Thermes Marins de Saint-Malo? This thermal establishment has made the reputation of Saint-Malo. Spa guests come from all over France to receive treatments there.
I have never had the opportunity to stay there, but I have seen their rooms when my friends stayed there. They are very well-maintained.
Bed and Breakfasts in St-Malo
If you don’t feel like staying in a hotel in St-Malo, there are many bed and breakfasts throughout the city.
La Maison Lacase
The owner of La Maison Lacase contacted me one day on Instagram to introduce me to her bed and breakfast, and I must say I immediately fell under its charm.
The house is located in Saint-Servan, a neighborhood of Saint-Malo very close to the old town. The setting is very peaceful. During the summer, guests can even have breakfast in the garden!
The different rooms all have different decorations, but they are all very pleasant and cozy. They all have different feminine names!
Vacation Rentals in St-Malo
Sometimes, when coming with family or a group of friends, it can be more interesting to rent an apartment, which will be larger and inevitably a bit cheaper.
Here are a few addresses I can recommend:
L’Émeraude
I know this apartment well because it is also managed by my parents. This small apartment is located in the heart of the old town. It overlooks a small square that comes alive in the summer; I love walking around there! It is therefore close to all amenities.
Inside, there is a large bedroom with a queen-size bed. The living area also has a real double sofa bed. A family of 4 can easily stay there. There is also a bathroom and a separate kitchen.

Les apparts Cité Corsaire
Located above the Place de la Poissonnerie, the Apparts Cité Corsaire can accommodate several people. The smallest one is 50 m2, but the largest one is nearly 70m2. Regardless of the size, they all have 2 bedrooms with double beds.
The decoration is very refined and perfect for a short stay in Saint-Malo.
